Albunuelas is a village in the orange growing Lecrin Valley, Andalucia,Southern Spain. The local airport is Granada however more frequent flights operate into Malaga which is less than a 2 hour drive away. Solobrena at the coast, with it's beaches, castle and fantastic fish restaurants is only a 40 minute drive and Granada with the Alhambra just 30 minutes.

Albunuelas has 4 bars, 2 supermarkets, 2 bakers, a tobacconist, pharmacist, bank, 2 churches, and other facilities besides!
There is a bus service which serves the village, linking it to the other villages in the valley, and also to Granada. The bus leaves the village for Granada 3 times per day.
A resident of the village is happy to take you on guided walks, for a contribution to the fiesta fund, and horse riding can also be undertaken from the main square with another local. A great way to see the surrounding countryside.
The area is fabulous for those who enjoy walking with the long distance trail GR7 being sign posted through the village and can be followed to other villages. There are also several other great walks that can be done straight from the house through the valley or forrest or just round the outer areas of the village, information on which is provided at Casa Cueva.
